Growing roofing Company in Chicago. 2 Estimator roles. Looking to hire ASAP
-Bids: Responding to RFPs, preparing bids, and securing commercial and industrial roofing jobs
-Relationships: Developing relationships with new customers and existing customers
-Sales Pipeline: Responsible for identifying additional sales opportunities from preventative maintenance and service calls.
Specific Objectives:
·Estimating and Bidding:
oReview and understand scope of work and project specifications from architectural drawings, specifications and other pertinent bid documents.
oCompute labor and material cost estimates and itemized lists of materials
oPrepare quotations / bids for negotiated Re-Roofing or Consultant Re-Roofing from field information.
oAssist in updating and improving estimation and bidding process to reflect changes in market and business conditions.
·Product and Purchasing:
oWork closely with manufacture representatives to request current material pricing and assembly letters.
oStay current with industry standards, processes, and techniques.
·Customer Satisfaction / Business Development:
oMaintain good relationships and communication with prime contractors, owners, staff, and manufacturers to increase sales and customer satisfaction.
·Projects:
oWork with project management to smoothly transition accepted proposals into active projects.
oMaintain accurate and up to date project files.
Required Knowledge & Skills:
·Product:
oMust be well versed in all single-ply roofing materials as well as single-ply methods of attachments.
oAbility to read and interpret specifications, bid documents, and perform project takeoffs.
oAbility to compile and prepare project submittals.
·Analytical: Ability to work with mathematical concepts and spreadsheets that use formulas for basic calculations and ratio analyses.
·Project Management:
oStrong attention to detail and organizational, administrative, logistical, and communication skills.
oCalculate pricing and cost impacts for change orders.
oData management: Most project documents are managed electronically.Proficiency with software technology including Excel and Word is a must.DataForma is a plus.
oTeam coordination: Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
·Must be able to pass a pre-hire criminal background check.
Experience:
· 2 years’ experience as an Estimator in commercial roofing.
·Prior sales experience in roofing and/or construction is a plus.
·Knowledge of singly-ply membranes and attachment methods.
